A super simple, vegan creamy lemon tahini sauce. Perfect to top any bowl, wrap or salad!
My favorite thing about this sauce is that I can make it in bulk for one dish, but use any leftovers throughout the week in different lunches/dinners. I also love that its vegan so it’s great to add to plant-based dishes
What goes in the sauce
Ingredients:
- Tahini: Get a good quality tahini! It makes all of the difference, I actually really like the trader joes tahini.
- Lemon: This helps breaks the fattiness of the tahini and adds a bit of brightness.
- Maple Syrup: You can substitute this for honey or sugar, but any sweetness to balance the flavors.
- Spices/Aromatics: Salt and cumin to add flavor. And a bit of fresh garlic.
Instructions:
- This is as simple as adding all of the ingredients to a blender/emersion blender and blending. Keep adding water slowly until the consistency is how you like it. Also know that adding water to tahini will make it thicker, you will probably need more than you think.
- The sauce also gets a bit thicker as is sits in the fridge so prepare for that!
